Solid Wood Strength
The solid pine panels and boards will not deflect under loading like MDF or chipboard – so in shelving applications the shelves do not dip and buckle when loaded.
Solid Wood Workability
The Solid Pine cuts, drills, machines, glues much easier than PLY or MDF. Routing profiles into either the edge or end grain produces very smooth and quality results even for a novice handyman. There is no need to add glued clashing strips to the cut edges, as the product is solid throughout with no change in density or finish.
Consistency of Grade
All product is premium clear grade so boards can be combined in a renovation or project without there being knots or blemishes appearing in the finished project. Stock turns on FIFO basis without customers needing to pick over a whole rack of panels to find the “one they like”.
Finishing
Radiata Pine is the most adaptive softwood species for staining to different colours. The very low resin content of Radiata Pine means that any colour stains applied soak in evenly and produce a very consistent finish. MDF absorbs stains very inconsistently and needs many additional coats until a consistent coverage is achieved.
Durable
Panels and boards are primarily designed for interior applications but can withstand infrequent wetting without any loss of strength or size.
Eco Friendly
All product is made from certified sustainable plantation forests in New Zealand. These forests are managed under strict guidelines set by the internationally recognised Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
Cost Effective
The panels are made in an automated production facility which means that the retail price point is still very competitive to a furniture manufacturer compared to them making up a single laminated panel for their application.
